Before thursdays lecture, i had never actually thought about infidelity or my opinions on it. Personally, iv have never been unfaithful to any of my partners, and its not something i condone, however, i can understand that there may be situations where people feel the need to be unfaitful to their partners. Some people may feel that being unfaithful is the norm and not have a guilty concious when doing so. This i feel is wrong and the person who is unfaithful could be hurting many people, themselves included. In terms of 'justified infidelity' i think certain situations such as if a person is in an abusive relationship and they feel they are unable to leave the abusive partner, they may find someone else who can give them affection.
Although infidelity involves lying, cheating and decieving someone, it is becoming the norm and scarily a money making business. While researching infidelity on the internet i found many websites helping people get over being cheated on however, i also found websites encoraging married people to cheat on their partners!
